There are many non governmental organizations in Zeytinburnu district.
Among the non governmental organizations in the district: associations established by the immigrants from Rumelia and Central Asia, sectoral associations established by the businesses such as leather dealers, textile dealers, transporters in line with the importance of the district in the business world.
Beside them, there are local associations such as the associations established for and by the immigrants from Erzincan, Giresun, Biga, Trazbon, and associations of architects, engineers, chemists and businessmen.
"Emine İnanç Foundation" was established in 1955 at the end of 58. Bulvar Avenue opposite to Zeytinburnu station, and it is one of the first foundations established in Istanbul. It has four student dormitories serving both boys and girl students. .
Head office of Deniz Feneri Mutual Aid and Solidarity Association that has arisen the interest of most of people in recent times is in this district.
"Aşevi" operating under municipality tries to ease the difficulties of many elderly people who are unemployed, widow or ill or experience difficulties in providing food for their home and delivers hot plate according to its possibilities.
"Atatürk Culture Center" attached to the municipality is another social institution operating in the district with different cultural activities. There is also a public library in the district.
