Seyyid Nizam Tekkesi
It is located at the junction of Seyit Nizam Street and Seyit Nizam Balıklı Yol at Kazlıçeşme.
The founder of the tekke is Seyyid Nizameddin Efendi (d.1550), a Muslim Ulama and a sheikh from Nakşibendiyye tariqat and known by the public as "Seyyid Nizam" who has settled in Istanbul after having moved here from Baghdad during the reign of Yavuz Sultan Selim (1512-1520).
Even though the founding date of the Seyyid Nizam tekke could not be determined exactly it is believed to be in the second quarter of the 16th century. Nor any proper information is available on the repair works and restorations.
Following the abolishment of the tekkes in 1925, they started to use the tevhidhane-turbeh building as a mosque and the annexes were assigned to the people serving at the mosque.
Ahmet İpan, a charitable person, had the building, entrance of the yard and the surrounding walls restored in 1974 according to the classical style of the 16th century, and a shadirvan (ablution fountain) has been added in t its yard in 1980's. Now it makes an important visiting site.
