Topkapi Freight House carries the whole burden of Istanbul

Within the house located in Topkapi where the distribution of loads coming from everywhere in Turkey by trucks are distributed to Anatolia work more than 5000 people as 1200 business-owners, 1.500 workers, 1000 truck drivers, 600 seconds, 500 advisors and accountants, 400 people working in restaurants and tea houses.

The busiest day of the house where 5.000 – 10.000 vehicles do enter and exit per day is Friday while the least busy day is Monday. In the house, which is active five days a week, no carriage is done on Saturdays and Sundays.
25-30 % of the 1500-3000 vehicles carrying over from downtown everyday are trucks, and 75-50 % are vans and pick-ups. 

Topkapı Freight House Cannot Meet the Need Anymore
Topkapi Freight Houses were decided to be moved to another location since they do not have the capacity to meet the needs of Istanbul. For that purpose, an area of 40 ha was reserved on the connection roads of E-5 and TEM highways in the Tuzla-Kurtkoy neighborhood on the Anatolian Side, within the Construction Plan.
